It was designed specifically for this site as part of the Art Works Downtown project. It currently hovers above a lovely garden in San Francisco. |

It was originally installed at Green Jeans Nursery, but has since moved twice and now resides in San Raphael. |

The abstract figures generally reference nurturing/growing, building/cooperation, group playing, and sharing/dancing. They were unveiled to a wildly enthusiastic mob of tykes. |

A member of the UCBG bought and donated this piece after being impressed with it while it hung in between two trees during a Benefical Bug show at the Gardens in 2008. |

) Name: Heart of a Child gate Dimensions: 3 feet W x 5 feet H Materials: Steel, reclaimed redwood planks A small school for children in Berkeley needed a gateway to its hobbit grove playground to be suitably tantalizing. The parents got together and commisioned this gate to integrate with the existing wooden fence. Many re-used parts were used for the frame, the twigs and the critters. |
